Wicked problems, as coined by Horst Rittel, eventually led to IBIS (Issue-Based Information Systems) and argumentation schemes (see argumentation theory).
Since October 2018, Argdown (a node.js package maintained on Github) has been the primary direction for the DebateLab at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
See “A new beginning: introducing argdown” | Oct. 26, 2018 | Argunet.org at http://www.argunet.org/2018/10/26/new-beginning-introducing-argdown/
Argdown is a descendant of Argunet (a Java Eclipse package from 2007) that is still available on the Internet.
Previous alternatives for IBIS (in different implementations) have included:
- Compendium (cached at http://www.cognexus.org/download_compendium.htm , with extended development as CompendiumNG https://github.com/CompendiumNG/CompendiumNG , related to CogNexus Issue Mapping).
